Валентина Петровна Захарова — советская певица (контральто), педагог, народная артистка РСФСР. Валентина Петровна Захарова родилась 18 февраля 1936 года в Омске. Участвовала в художественной самодеятельности. С 1954 года была солисткой Русского народного хора имени М. Е. Пятницкого. В репертуаре певицы были старинные и современные русские народные песни, песни советский композиторов. Преподаёт в школе-студии при хоре.

Valentina Koroleva (nee Zakharova) was born on August 19, 1936, in Omsk, the USSR. A well-known Soviet and Russian folklore singer, she started out with amateur vocal performances of old and contemporary folk songs. Zakharova was mostly associated with the Pyatnitsky Russian Folk Choir where she was accepted as a soloist in 1954. Awarded with the gold medal (the first place) of the World Festival of Youth and Students (1957) and the honorary title “People’s Artist of the USSR” (1979). Her singing voice, formally classified as contralto, was often described as of soft, gentle and warm timbre, penetrating right into the heart. A very kind and bright woman, she devoted her later years to training multiple students.
